The fatigue of configuration is not a new problem. It’s also not particularly interesting. Just persistent.

Plank CMS builds on that accumulated friction. After more than a decade working with content management systems (CMS), it becomes clear that most solutions tend to prioritize complexity over simplicity. In practice, this often translates into initial setups that take longer than they should, external dependencies that aren’t always well documented, and processes that end up being handled outside the system itself.

Developed by AM25, this project removes the unnecessary layers that typically come with traditional CMS platforms. It uses a headless architecture built on Node and TypeScript, connected directly to Postgres, without intermediaries.

The creator-first approach doesn’t aim to add more features, but to reduce the steps between an idea and its publication. Each decision is driven by the need to simplify what is often made more complex without a clear reason.

The beta version is already available for those who want to try it before the stable release. Version 1.0.0 will be available soon, consolidating what has been built so far.

For a more detailed explanation of the architecture, there is a dedicated technical entry covering the full process.

The result is an environment that works without requiring additional configuration.
